For Inter Miami, the arithmetic is simple: with Nashville SC already five points clear at the top of the East and the Herons coming off a humbling 4-1 defeat in Tennessee—a match that saw goalkeeper Ríos Novo gift Hany Mukhtar a goal—a response is imperative to keep the Supporters’ Shield race alive. Miami remain second on 38 points with a game in hand over Nashville, but another slip could let New England Revolution and Chicago Fire close the gap.
