Austin ended a 13-match road winless streak with a 2-1 victory at Seattle. Facundo Torres and Guilherme Biro scored the goals, and Arnaud praised a group that “bought into what we're trying to do” and “executed … at a really good level.” Still 14th in the West, the Verde will hope the performance sparks a late-season push.
Janssen’s suspension strips Portland of their chief aerial threat and link-up play. The onus falls on Da Costa, Velde and supporting runners to pierce an Austin defence that looked organised in Seattle. How Portland replace that focal point – and whether Austin can contain the Timbers’ wide combinations – will shape the contest.
