One MatchdayAI account works in the MatchdayAI app on Google Play and on matchdayai.com. Deleting it in either place deletes it everywhere, and it cannot be undone.
Before you start
If you have a Pro plan that is still renewing, or one whose last payment failed and is being retried, cancel it first from your account page on matchdayai.com. Until then, deletion is refused: deleting would leave the plan running with no account attached to it. A plan you have already cancelled does not stop you, but deleting ends Pro at once rather than at the end of the period you paid for.
1. In the app
- Open the MatchdayAI app and go to the Account tab.
- Under Delete account, tap Delete my account and confirm. We email a link to your account's address.
- Open the link on the same phone. The app asks you to confirm once more, then deletes the account.
2. On the website
- Sign in at matchdayai.com and open your account page.
- Under Delete account, choose Delete my account, type DELETEand send. We email a link to your account's address.
- Open the link in the same browser you are signed in with. The account is deleted when you open it.
Either way, nothing is deleted until you open the link, and it stops working after 24 hours.
3. By email, without the app or the website
Email privacy@matchdayai.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We normally reply within two working days. The same rule applies: a plan that is still running has to be cancelled first.
What is deleted
At the moment the account is deleted, we remove:
- Your account: your name, email address, profile picture, email preferences and the time you last signed in.
- Your sign-in methods: your password, and the link to your Google account if you used Google.
- Every signed-in session, on the website and in the app, so you are signed out everywhere.
- The teams and competitions you follow.
- The record of which matches you opened in full on a free account.
- Our record of your Pro subscription, and the reference that links you to your customer record at our payment provider.
What is kept
- Payment records, at our payment provider. If you ever paid for Pro, our payment provider keeps its own record of your subscription and payments, such as invoices and the email address they were issued to. It keeps them for as long as tax and financial law requires, and we cannot delete them.
- A log of daily digest emails. If you received the daily digest, we keep a log of the days it was sent and which matches it covered, so that nobody is sent the same email twice. It holds an internal account number and the email service’s message reference, not your name or email address, and it is not removed when the account is.
- Copies of emails we sent you, at our email delivery service. The service that delivers our emails keeps a log of messages it sent, including the address they went to, for its own log period.
- A copy of your Google profile picture. If you signed up with Google, we may have stored a copy of your profile picture. It is not yet removed automatically when the account is deleted. Email privacy@matchdayai.com and we will remove it.
- Server error logs. Our error logs can include your internal account number, and, if a payment could not be matched to an account, the email address it came from. They never contain your password or card details.
If you accepted analytics cookies, Google Analytics holds usage data about your browser. We never send it your account, so it is not linked to it and deleting the account does not change it. Deleting the account also does not remove MatchdayAI from your Google account's connected apps; you can do that in Google Account Permissions.
