The model confidently expected Emmen to strike first and take the points, but De Graafschap's 2-1 victory defied the early-season metrics entirely.
Similarly, NAC Breda's shot volume and expected goals output—averaging 2.05 per game—suggested they would easily overwhelm a Jong Utrecht team sitting at the foot of the table. The firm projection for a home win was completely derailed by a 3-2 away victory, demonstrating that even extreme disparities in attacking data can be undone on the pitch.
