FC Volendam vs Den Bosch: Veerman Leads Eerste Divisie Tie
Published
FC Volendam welcome Den Bosch to the Kras Stadion in Volendam for an Eerste Divisie Round 6 encounter on September 13, 2026. The hosts will be eager to secure a positive result in front of their home support as the early league standings begin to take shape.
Volendam Team News and Tactical Setup
Based on their recent lineup against FC Emmen, Volendam manager is expected to deploy an attacking 4-3-3 formation. Goalkeeper Roy Steur provides the last line of defence behind a back four featuring Precious Ugwu, Luca Blondeau, Erik Schouten, and Mike Kleijn. In the centre of the park, Reuven Niemeijer, Daan Huisman, and Nordin Bukala will be tasked with controlling possession and feeding the front line. This system relies heavily on the midfield trio dictating the tempo and breaking lines to create chances.
The Den Bosch Form Guide
Den Bosch arrive in Volendam having navigated a challenging and varied stretch of domestic fixtures. Their recent schedule has tested them against a wide array of tactical setups, including matches against Vitesse, FC Eindhoven, Heracles, Almere City, and ADO Den Haag. Navigating these different styles of play will have prepared the visitors for the challenge of Volendam's three-man midfield, testing their defensive resilience and adaptability on the road.
Key Battle: Henk Veerman vs Den Bosch Defence
The focal point of the home side's attack is experienced striker Henk Veerman. Flanked by Nick Doodeman and Alex Plat in the front three, Veerman's physical presence and positional awareness make him a constant threat in the penalty area. Den Bosch's centre-backs will need to track his movements closely and cut off the supply line from Niemeijer and Huisman if they are to keep a clean sheet at the Kras Stadion. How well the visitors manage Veerman's hold-up play could dictate the flow of the match.
A positive result in Round 6 would provide a significant boost for either side as the Eerste Divisie campaign gathers pace. Both clubs will look to use this fixture as a springboard to climb the table before the autumn schedule intensifies.
