The Liga Profesional Argentina moves into Clausura Matchweek 15, running from 30 October to 3 November 2026 across 15 fixtures. With the regular season drawing towards its conclusion, the split between top-four contenders and sides fighting to salvage their campaign is sharper than ever. The remaining projections for later fixtures in the round appear on each match page the day before kickoff.
The matches of the round
Estudiantes de Rio Cuarto open the round on Friday hosting third-placed Gimnasia L.P. in Group B. The hosts sit 15th with just nine points from 14 games, having scored only nine goals all campaign while conceding 19. They are missing Gonzalo Maffini to suspension alongside injuries to Francesco Lo Celso and Lucas González. In contrast, Gimnasia arrive unbeaten in eight matches, having beaten Huracan 2-1 and Sarmiento Junin 2-0 in recent weeks. Our model projects a Gimnasia L.P. win with medium confidence, expecting fewer than 2.5 goals as the visitors look to capitalize on an attack creating 2.4 big chances per game over their last five.
Also on Friday evening, Huracan face Tigre in another Group B encounter. Huracan sit eighth in the table after three consecutive defeats, most recently falling 2-0 at Rosario Central. They will be without suspended top scorer Jordy Caicedo, who has 14 goals this season. Even so, Huracan have lost only once in seven home games this term, whereas Tigre have gone eight matches without a victory and lost four of their last five away from home. Tigre's underlying numbers show they are creating opportunities, but our model gives Huracan the edge with a medium-confidence call for a home win. Under 2.5 goals is a firm, high-confidence projection here, while a speculative 1-0 scoreline is a low-confidence call.
Friday
Racing Club host Aldosivi in late Friday action. Racing have picked up 12 points from 14 games and were beaten 1-0 by River Plate last time out. Aldosivi sit one spot below them in 14th on 11 points, though they enter after a 1-0 victory against Belgrano Cordoba.
Sarmiento Junin meet Group B leaders Rosario Central simultaneously. Sarmiento sit seventh with 21 points and will miss suspended midfielder Julián Contrera. Rosario Central have taken 28 points from 14 matches, winning three straight games and scoring 10 goals across that run with Ángel Di María leading the line on 11 goals.
Saturday
Deportivo Riestra take on Talleres Cordoba in Group A. Riestra sit 13th having scored only 10 times in 14 fixtures, while Talleres are bottom of the section with nine points after consecutive 2-1 defeats against Boca Juniors and Defensa y Justicia.
Velez Sarsfield host San Lorenzo in an all-Buenos Aires meeting. Second-placed Velez have 27 points and earned a 5-0 win over Central Cordoba de Santiago last week, though Rodrigo Aliendro is suspended. San Lorenzo sit ninth on 18 points, having drawn 0-0 with Newells Old Boys last time out.
Estudiantes L.P. face Group A leaders Instituto Cordoba in the late Saturday kickoff. Estudiantes have lost two straight games, conceding five goals across them. Instituto have accumulated 32 points with only 10 goals conceded all season, winning back-to-back matches 1-0.
Sunday
Boca Juniors meet River Plate in the weekend's headline fixture. Boca occupy third spot in Group A on 27 points after a 1-0 win at Independiente, led in attack by Miguel Merentiel. River Plate are fourth in Group B on 23 points after defeating Racing Club 1-0, having conceded just 13 goals in 14 matches.
Belgrano Cordoba play Barracas Central with both teams locked on 22 points in Group B. Belgrano suffered a 1-0 defeat at Aldosivi last week and are without injured leading scorer Nicolás Fernández. Barracas Central arrive following a 2-1 victory over Estudiantes de Rio Cuarto.
Newells Old Boys face Union Santa Fe in Rosario. Newells are sixth in Group A on 21 points, having conceded just 10 goals all campaign. Union sit 10th with 17 points, boosted by a 3-1 win over Estudiantes L.P. where Cristian Tarragona took his season tally to 15 goals.
Lanus wrap up Sunday against Gimnasia M. Lanus sit fifth in Group A on 24 points, though defender Carlos Izquierdoz is suspended. Gimnasia M. are four points behind in seventh after suffering back-to-back defeats against Velez Sarsfield and Platense.
Monday and Tuesday
Defensa y Justicia host Independiente on Monday evening. Defensa sit fourth in Group A with 27 points following a 2-1 win at Talleres Cordoba, though Damián Fernández is suspended. Independiente have 19 points and will be without the suspended Iván Marcone.
Platense meet Central Cordoba de Santiago at the same hour. Platense picked up a 2-1 away win at Gimnasia M. last time out. Central Cordoba sit 14th in Group A with 23 goals conceded after their 5-0 home loss to Velez Sarsfield, and Alejandro Maciel misses out through suspension.
Atletico Tucuman host second-placed Argentinos Juniors in Monday's late game. Atletico beat Tigre 1-0 last week, while Argentinos Juniors have collected 28 points in Group B and conceded only 11 goals this season.
Independ. Rivadavia and Banfield finish the round. Independ. Rivadavia are ninth in Group B on 19 points after losing 1-0 to Argentinos Juniors. Banfield sit 11th on 14 points following a 1-1 draw with Lanus.
Matchweek 15 could see significant separation at the summit of both sections, with Rosario Central and Instituto Cordoba defending their respective leads while chasing teams push for advantageous playoff seeding.
