IF Brommapojkarna vs Orgryte IS

IF Brommapojkarna host Orgryte IS at Grimsta IP on Saturday afternoon in a round 17 Allsvenskan fixture that carries significant weight at the foot of the table. With both sides entrenched in the lower reaches, this Stockholm meeting has the feel of a genuine six-pointer as the Swedish season intensifies.

Relegation Six-Pointer at Grimsta IP

Just three points separate 12th‑placed Brommapojkarna from 15th‑placed Orgryte, although the visitors have played a game more. A home victory would push BP six clear of the relegation play‑off spot and drag Orgryte deeper into trouble; a reverse could see the Gothenburg side clamber out of the bottom three. The smallest of margins have defined both teams’ campaigns so far, making this lunchtime kick‑off a pivotal moment in their survival bids.

Brommapojkarna’s Struggle for Goals

BP have found consistent attacking output hard to come by. Over their last six league outings they have averaged only 0.83 goals scored, while conceding at a rate of 1.67 per game. Those numbers reflect a side that can stay organised in spells but has rarely looked capable of putting a contest to bed. At home, the compact Grimsta IP can become a difficult venue for visiting teams, yet Brommapojkarna have drawn too many matches that they needed to win to pull clear of danger.

Orgryte’s Leaky Defence

Orgryte’s recent matches have been considerably more open. Their last six have produced an average of 3.67 goals per game – they have scored 1.67 per match but conceded exactly two. That defensive fragility has undermined any momentum generated by their attack, and the quick turnaround from their round‑16 encounter away at AIK will test the depth of a squad already under pressure. If the back‑line cannot tighten up on the road, the hosts’ patient build‑up play could find gaps in transition.

What It Means for the Table

With Allsvenskan’s bottom half bunched tightly, a single result can dramatically alter a club’s trajectory. Brommapojkarna sit on 17 points from 15 matches, while Orgryte have 13 from 16 – the losing side here could be cast adrift in the automatic relegation zone or sucked into a nervous scrap that runs deep into autumn. Neither outfit can afford to treat this as an ordinary regular‑season fixture.

After Saturday’s contest, both teams face difficult assignments against sides chasing European football. Compounding a defeat with another poor result would amplify the anxiety, while a victory would offer tangible proof that survival is within reach.
