Erzurumspor FK vs Konyaspor

Newly promoted Erzurumspor FK host Konyaspor in the Süper Lig on Saturday, 5 September 2026. The Matchday 4 fixture sees the home side searching for a maiden victory of the campaign while the visitors aim to climb the early-season table.

Manager Serkan Özbalta has already led his squad into training this week as preparations intensify. The session, held on Thursday, focused on conditioning and tactical work ahead of Friday’s final run-out. Erzurumspor are still settling back into life in the Turkish top flight and will view this home game as a genuine opportunity to kickstart their season.

Team News and Injury Latest

Erzurumspor FK have not reported any fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash. Manager Özbalta put his players through a programme of warm-ups, fitness drills, and tactical routines on Thursday, with the full squad expected to be available. The team will train through to Friday before the matchday selection is finalised. For Konyaspor, no specific squad updates have emerged from the visiting camp, leaving both sides looking close to full strength for the Saturday afternoon kick-off.

Erzurumspor FK Form Guide

Erzurumspor had to wait until Matchday 3 to collect their first point of the 2026-27 Süper Lig season. Back-to-back defeats against Amed Sportif Faaliyetler and reigning champions Galatasaray left them empty-handed from their opening two outings. The drought ended with a 1-1 draw away at Gençlerbirliği last week, a result that also ended Gençlerbirliği’s perfect start to the campaign. That performance, secured at the Eryaman Stadium, handed Özbalta’s side a much-needed foothold in the division, but the search for a first win now shifts to home soil.

Konyaspor Season So Far

Konyaspor travel east looking to build on what has been a steady, if unspectacular, opening to their Süper Lig campaign. While the visitors have not yet set the league alight, their early-season form leaves them within touching distance of the top half. A positive result in Erzurum would maintain their upward trajectory before the schedule intensifies.

Key Battle: Erzurumspor’s Defence vs Konyaspor’s Attack

The home backline, marshalled by experienced captain Mustafa Yumlu, faces a stern examination. Yumlu, supported by Gerxhaliu and Mujakic, helped keep Gençlerbirliği largely at bay last time out and will need a repeat showing against a Konyaspor attack that is more than capable of punishing lapses. Ertuğrul Taşkıran is expected to continue in goal, and his communication with the centre-backs could prove decisive in a match likely to be settled by fine margins.

Erzurumspor’s return to the Süper Lig has been a steep learning curve, but a home victory this weekend would lift them out of the early relegation picture and give the Kazım Karabekir faithful plenty to cheer before the international break.
